World Disability Billiards & Snooker (WDBS) is delighted to announce that the 2nd Shanghai Disability Snooker Invitational will take place from 20-21 July.

The six-red event follows the successful first staging of the event in September 2023 and will once again aim to raise awareness of WDBS and its competitions in China.

The event has been organised in conjunction with the Shanghai Billiards Association (SHBA), with whom WDBS signed a memorandum of understanding in March 2024, and with support from WDBS Director Da Chen.

The field will include 11 invited international players, including 2023 World Abilitysport Games gold medalists Gary Swift and Tony Southern, who will be joined by approximately 40 cueists from China to compete across the weekend.

An opening ceremony will be held prior to the event which will be attended by World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association (WPBSA) Chairman Jason Ferguson.

Ferguson said: “We are delighted to announce the 2nd Shanghai Disability Invitational which will take place later this month. We are incredibly proud of the continued international growth of the WDBS Tour and look forward to continuing our work with the SHBA for many years to come.”

WDBS Chairman Nigel Mawer QPM said: “It is a great step for WDBS to be hosting another event in Shanghai as we continue to grow the WDBS Tour in Asia and beyond. We hope that these events can lead to the staging of a full ranking event in China in the future.
