Bio

Paul Smith is one of the leading players in the Group 7 classification with six WDBS titles to his name, including the first two held in his category – the 2016 Woking Open and 2016 Hull Open.

Smith’s most recent success came at the 2023 Hull Open, where he defeated Mike Gillespie in a decider to claim the title, while he also came runner-up at that year’s Champion of Champions event – this time losing out to Gillespie 6-4.

From Stevenage, Paul is  former professional player and took four-time world champion John Higgins to a deciding frame at the 1992 Grand Prix before losing 5-4.
