Bio

Colvin O’Brien made WDBS history at the 2024 British Open in Woking by compiling the tour’s first ever century break.

Competing in only his third event on the tour, O’Brien fired in a stunning break of exactly 100 against Lee Finbow to write his name in the history books.

The Irishman made his debut on home soil at the 2023 Irish Open and came agonisingly close to securing a maiden title in each of his first two events – losing in a decider in the final to fellow countryman Dylan Rees both in Ireland and at the 2023 UK Disability Championship.

O’Brien would finally earn a first ranking event title at the 2024 Belgian Open and quickly followed this with the 2024 Hull Open amd 2024 UK Disability Championship crowns. A successful defence of his Belgian Open crown followed in March 2025.

At the 2024 Irish Open, O’Brien reached the summit of the Group 7 world ranking list for the first time by reaching the final in Carlow.

O’Brien contested the first ever Group 7 final of a World Disability Snooker Championship in Thailand in March 2025, losing out in the title match to fellow countryman Dylan Rees.
