Carl Gibson has set new heights for ambulant snooker since first joining the WDBS tour in 2022.
From Hull, Gibson has reached at least the semi-finals at every WDBS event he has competed in and has lifted seven ranking event titles to date, including the European and World Championship crowns.
In December 2023, Gibson was one of the five gold medalists as snooker made its inaugural appearance at the World Abilitysport Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
He then made further history at the 2024 Hull Open as he set a new WDBS ambulant record break of 99 in the group stages. He would go on to win his home title for the first time and become world number one in the Group 4 rankings as a result.
At the first ever European Disability Snooker Championship, staged in October 2024 in Portugal, Gibson defeated Daniel Blunn 3-0 in the final to win the prestigious title.
A few months later, he defeated David Church 3-1 in the final of the first ever World Disability Snooker Championship in Thailand.
