Entry is now open for the landmark first staging of the European Disability Snooker Championship which will be held for the first time at the Vidamar Hotel, Portugal, from 19-23 October 2024.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

The five-day tournament represents the first time that a World Disability Billiards and Snooker (WDBS) ranking tournament will be staged alongside the EBSA European Snooker Championships.

To be held at the stunning Vidamar Hotel, the event will welcome players from all eight classification groups. Players will compete against players within their own classification group only.

Players will be required to attend from the opening day of the event (opening ceremony/meeting on 18th). Any player not in attendance from this day will not be permitted to enter the tournament.

The deadline for entry will be 12pm on Friday 20 September 2024.

Vidamar Hotel Algarve

HOTEL & TRAVEL

The official hotel for this tournament will be the Vidamar Hotel. ALL players MUST stay at the Vidamar Hotel (except Group 1/2 where accessible rooms are not available) to be eligible to compete.

Upon entry to the event, all players will be contacted by WDBS and required to complete a travel and accommodation form. WDBS will use the information from this form to complete the EBSA Travel and Accommodation form on your behalf.

The deadline for completing this form and any changes is 12pm on Friday 27 September 2024.

ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENTS

The WDBS event will be held as part of the wider EBSA European Championship event which runs from 10-23 October 2024.

There may be limited opportunities for WDBS players to compete within the following tournaments (please note that the Men’s Teams and Shoot Out competitions will not be possible as they will run at the same time as the disability event):

  • Seniors (40+) Championship – 10-16 October
  • Seniors (40+) Team Championship – 10-16 October
  • Women’s Championship – 10-16 October
  • Women’s Team Championship – 10-16 October
  • 6 Reds Championship – 16-18 October

Players will be selected based upon a set criterion to include world ranking, number of tournaments played and WDBS titles won.

The entry fee for singles events is €100 and €150 for team events, for which players will be responsible.

To express interest in competing at these events, please contact us stating which tournaments you would like to be considered by no later than Friday 9 August 2024. We will aim to confirm all selected players within one week to ensure that they can book the correct flights as soon as possible.

HOW TO ENTER

Entry for all WDBS events is made through the WPBSA SnookerScores website:

  1. Determine your classification and choose your event: Your disability must fall under one of our 36 WDBS Classification Profiles, which have been grouped into eight ‘Groups’ for competition.
  2. Download the Event Entry Form: Once you have decided which event you would like to enter, read the entry form (linked above) and the latest WDBS Standard Conditions of Entry attached to it.
  3. Enter Online: All event entries are to be made through the WPBSA SnookerScores website. Either register or log in to your existing account and select the event that you wish to enter from the WDBS organisation page or from the ‘My Player’ section of your account.
  4. Pay the Entry Fee: Once you have entered the event, you can pay your entry fee online via the ‘My Payments’ section of your account.

Your entry will only be formally accepted upon receipt of your online entry AND payment of your entry fee by the event entry deadline.
