Andy Lam to Become WDBS Ambassador

World Disability Billiards and Snooker (WDBS) is delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Lam as an official ambassador to Hong Kong China.

Lam, who competes as a Group 3 player on the WDBS Tour, made his debut in 2018 and won his maiden title at the following year’s Humber Classic in Hull. Last month, he earned a bronze medal at the World Ability Sport Games in Thailand by defeating Kaisorn Thongla 3-1 in the third-place match.

The role will see Lam assist the WDBS with further developing disability snooker in Hong Kong China by helping to set up snooker related projects and events for people with disabilities in the nation. He has also played a key role in promoting snooker in his home country through the recently established Hong Kong Phab Snooker Association which aims to encourage people with disabilities to play snooker.

Andy Lam, WDBS Hong Kong China ambassador, said: “I am excited to become an ambassador for WDBS and to be able to help encourage more people to play snooker in Hong Kong China.

“I have enjoyed competing in WDBS events and I was proud to be able to win a prestigious medal in Thailand last year. I am looking forward to being able to experience more opportunities like this in the future.

“I hope to be help promote the game in Asia and have more tournaments in the region in the future”.

“Last September our WDBS ambassador for China Da Chen was instrumental in the staging of our first competition in Shanghai which was a huge success. I would like to thank Andy for expressing an interest in this role to help grow disability snooker in Hong Kong China and we are pleased to be able to support this.”
