WDBS Rankings | British Open 2024 Update
The official WDBS rankings have been updated for the first time in 2024 following the conclusion of the British Open in Woking last weekend.

The WDBS ranking system includes individual ranking lists for each of the main classification groups, with players earning points from based upon their finishing position at designated ranking tournaments.
The rankings operate on a rolling two-year basis, with points earned during 2021/22 to be removed during the course of this season. At this revision no points were removed and those earned at the 2024 British Open were added.
Knowles Becomes No.1
For the second consecutive revision there is a change at the top of Group 8 as Lewis Knowles has reached the rankings summit for the first time after he made it back-to-back ranking titles with wins at the German Open and now British Open tournaments.
Having begun the weekend just 1,200 behind Taylor, success for Knowles combined with a semi-final defeat for Taylor against Kristof De Bruyn, means that Knowles becomes number one for the first time.
He also overtakes former number one Shabir Ahmed, who fell at the last 16 stage in Woking.
Key Movers
Elsewhere across the rankings there is a new number two in Groups 1-2 as British Open champion Shahab Siddiqui leapfrogs Gary Swift, while Nigel Coton climbs two to third place in Group 3.
In Group 5 there is set to be an intriguing five-way fight for top spot over the coming events with long-time top two Mickey Chambers and Dean Simmons both set to defend big points, while recent champions Dalton Lawrence, Gerdy Dupont and the in-form Dave Bolton are fast-approaching.
Group 4 looks to be almost as close with little to choose between William Thomson, David Church, Daniel Blunn and Carl Gibson between now and the end of the season.
James Hart climbs two places to third in Group 6B following his breakthrough title success in Woking, while Ronnie Allen nudges above Paul Smith to claim third in Group 7.
